Doll Mystery Continued... WARNING!! Not For The Faint Of Heart!

So sorry I have not been sharing my mini stuff with you lately. So much has been going on in the RL...nothing bad thank God! Still I have been doing a little mini-ing here and there and planned to do a good post next week and then this happened today!

Some of you may remember this doll that was found buried in my backyard. The last month has been extremely busy for me so I didn’t bother with her anymore. I2 Create’s and Georgia Girl’s remarks made me think maybe I should clean her up, dress her, maybe give her a little hair, lots of love and see what she looked like. In the meantime she has been on the ground where she was rained on (thought it would help clean her), and had plenty of sun.

Last night I happened to run across a wig that looked like it would fit her so I thought I would give her some attention and fix her up today. This is how she looked this morning. Her eyes are completely changed and her face looks very different. Doesn’t her mouth look way less pouty? Do you think the elements, first being buried in dirt then the weather changed her looks?

Yep, she is the same doll!

Exactly what do you think is going on here?
Could someone be playing a joke on me?

By the way, I am a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ and I fear no evil which is why I have not gotten spooked by her. No weapon formed against me can prosper.(Isa 54:17) However, I do think this is extremely odd.

Yet, I still feel I should not throw her in the garbage and I don’t want to thrift her for someone else to buy her not knowing this strangeness about her.

How did her lips become so red?

  1. She looks nicer, but this is a bit spooky. perhaps her lips are more red because the rain washed out the dirt, but I can't imagine how her lips have become less pouty......maybe with some love she will get "normal".....

    1. Hi ya Billa!
You know I was shocked when I picked her up. It was the eyes that I thought was most peculiar in the beginning. But for some reason I really like this little lady.

    1. Hi Teresa!
You know she really looks different. I am not sure why. But, that is only part of the mystery. Why and how did she get there in the first place? I have worked in that area of the garden before.

  3. I think she is lovely - what beautiful eyes. She looks happier and is getting her glow back. Perhaps moisture has brought out the pigments in the paint or something as well as washed away the dirt. Lets face it we don't know just how long it has been since she has seen daylight. I wonder what her story is - why was she buried and when. An intriguing doll. I am glad you have given her a bit of TLC.

  4. And just as the Son cleanses us from all of the dirt in our lives, it appears that the sun has been cleansing your doll also, grandmommy!:))
So now give this lil gal some HAIR! :D

  5. Wow, that is creepy. Maybe the material the "Garden doll" is made of was holding moisture and it finally dried out. This could be the reason for the doll's face shrinking back into place. I have to agree with the other commenter...she does look much happier. (edited)

    1. Mini Confessions hello!
I thought that too, but she was in a thunder storm a few days ago so I know she must have gotten soaked. I think it is odd that the sun did not fade her lips. Also, would she have gotten that much moisture being buried?
I know some people were spooked by her when I first posted about her and I wanted them not to be scared. Hope they didn't get freaked out by all of this.
She is going to be ok...We have bonded now! :-)

P.S.: So far nothing from the book front... nothing in the mail and not even a response from Camille although I've written her the same day. But don't worry... and who knows... maybe you're having a doll mystery and I am experiencing a mail mystery with a happy ending... ;O)

    1. Hey there Smaller Places!
Yes, she is cleaner. The pictures were true to life regardless of the angle. Her eyes have definitely changed.

  14. Maybe the rubber was affected and swollen from her burial conditions. I would only worry if you set her down somewhere and then something about her moves or changes again. She's probably just doing better out of the dirt.

    1. Hi Janaiah Frye!
Welcome! I can't tell if she was swollen from the soil. Yet, she has been rained on quite a bit too!
I have been keeping my eyes on her...believe me! LOL

  20. Hello grandmommy,

AHA! I was wondering what all this was about buried dolls in your newest post. What fun and what a great find. You have really transformed her. So you have made a doll come back from the grave...this might be your shot at getting into the bible ;)
